Union Public Service Commission is conducting an all India combine competitive examination for recruitment to the services and posts of Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer in various Central Government Services.

Eligibility Criteria of Engineering Services Examination 2012 :
The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, 2012 i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1991. The upper Age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/ other backward classes and certain other categories.

Educational Qualifications
The candidate must hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent. M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject also acceptable for certain posts.
A candidate who is in the final year of Engineering may also apply for the same. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination, if otherwise eligible, but their admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation, if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite qualifying examination alongwith the detailed applications which will be required to be submitted by the candidates who qualify on the result of written part of the examination.

How to Apply for Engineering Services Examination 2012

The application procedure of Engineering Services is similar to that of other examinations conducted by UPSC. The application form can be obtained from Head Post Offices/Post Offices of any area against a cash payment of Rs 20/-. The duly completed application form , along with a self addressed envelop should be sent to

Selection Procedure of Engineering Services Examination 2012
The selection procedure of the Engineering Services exam consists of a Written Test and an Interview.
